1 Death and 41 New COVID-19 Cases in Gyeongnam... Sporadic Infections Continue
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] As of 2 PM on the 4th, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that 41 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported within the province.
By region, there are 15 cases in Changwon, 11 in Tongyeong, 7 in Geoje, 3 in Hapcheon, 2 in Sacheon, and 1 each in Goseong, Hadong, and Geochang.
Among the 15 confirmed cases in Changwon, 8 are family members of confirmed cases within the province. Four were tested after symptom onset, two are acquaintances and family members of confirmed cases related to the Seoul metropolitan area, and one is a coworker of a confirmed case from another region.
In Tongyeong and Geoje, 9 cases are contacts of confirmed cases within the province. Four cases are related to a welfare facility located in Tongyeong, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases linked to this facility to 15.
The facility is currently closed, and the Tongyeong city quarantine authorities are reclassifying contacts and conducting an in-depth epidemiological investigation due to additional confirmed cases.
The remaining four confirmed cases in Geoje are contacts of confirmed cases within the province, and one case is related to a school located in Geoje.
Among the three confirmed cases in Hapcheon, two are family members of confirmed cases within the province, and one is an acquaintance of a confirmed case from another region.
The two confirmed cases in Sacheon are contacts of confirmed cases within the province.
The confirmed cases in Goseong and Hadong, one each, are acquaintances of confirmed cases within the province.
The confirmed case in Geochang is a family member of a confirmed case from another region.
On the previous day afternoon, an octogenarian patient who was hospitalized and receiving treatment at Yangji Nursing Hospital in Ulsan passed away.
