CJ CheilJedang Bibigo, Domestic and International MZ Generation Experience Korean Traditional 'Kimjang Culture'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ CheilJedang announced on the 3rd that it held a 'First Kimjang Experience' event for MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) domestic and foreign participants at the Suragan Oeso Kitchen Yard of Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul.
The event, held on the 2nd, was organized in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Administration with the purpose of allowing young people to directly make kimchi and feel and empathize with the sincerity and sharing values embedded in the Korean kimjang culture.
Under the slogan 'Suragan Kimjang Day,' 15 domestic and foreign participants in their 20s and 30s, selected through prior story applications, took part. Chef Park Jun-woo and Italian-born broadcaster Alberto Mondi served as hosts, dividing the event into Part 1 mini talk show and Part 2 kimjang experience.
During the mini talk show, foreigners who love Korean culture and professional chefs shared stories about kimchi and kimjang culture from their perspectives, as well as personal stories related to kimchi. Following this, in the kimjang experience event, participants paired up in teams of two to mix kimchi using salted napa cabbage and secret seasonings used in Bibigo kimchi. After the event, a full-course meal featuring various Bibigo products prepared by CJ MD One's Recipe Marketing Team was served.
Nancy, a 28-year-old freelance writer from Bulgaria, said, "I really love kimchi, and making kimjang myself with my American husband at the traditional Korean palace Gyeongbokgung will be an unforgettable special memory."
A Bibigo representative from CJ CheilJedang stated, "This event aligns with Bibigo Kimchi's brand philosophy of continuing the sincerity and cultural value embedded in kimchi making," adding, "We will continue our efforts to promote Korea's kimjang culture, made with good ingredients and sincerity."
