New President of Financial Security Institute Appointed: Kim Cheol-woong, Deputy Governor of Financial Supervisory Service
Inauguration as New Security Director on the 6th
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] On the 3rd, the Financial Security Institute held a general assembly and appointed Kim Cheol-ung, Deputy Director of the Financial Supervisory Service (age 55), as the 4th Director of the Financial Security Institute.
New Director Kim Cheol-ung graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Business Administration and completed an MBA at the University of Maryland, USA. After joining the Bank of Korea in 1991, he served as the head of the Secretariat team at the Financial Supervisory Service in 2007, and held positions such as Washington correspondent, Director of the General Banking Bureau, Director of the Illegal Finance Response Team, and Director of the Dispute Mediation Bureau.
