93 Confirmed Cases and 1 Death in Gyeongnam... Many with Unknown Infection Routes
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] As of 5 PM on the 2nd, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that 93 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported within the province.
By region, there were 35 cases in Yangsan, 24 in Changwon, 6 each in Sacheon and Goseong, 5 in Changnyeong, 4 in Geoje, 3 each in Jinju, Gimhae, and Miryang, 2 in Tongyeong, and 1 each in Haman and Sancheong.
Regarding the infection routes, 55 people tested positive after contact with confirmed cases within the province, including family and acquaintances. One confirmed case each in Yangsan, Changnyeong, and Goseong was infected through contact with confirmed cases in Seoul and Busan.
Due to cluster infections, 4 cases related to schools in Yangsan, 2 cases related to schools in Geoje, 2 cases related to welfare centers in Changwon, 2 cases related to daycare centersⅡ in Gimhae, 1 case related to a bathhouse in Gimhae, and 1 case related to a medical institutionⅢ in Changwon were confirmed.
Additionally, 23 cases are currently under investigation for their infection routes.
Health authorities reported that a person in their 70s who died at home the previous afternoon tested positive for COVID-19 shortly before passing away.
