KAI Subsidiary S&K Aerospace Collaborates with Innospace on Small Launch Vehicle Development

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] S&K Aerospace, a subsidiary of Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), announced on the 2nd that it signed a "Strategic Business Agreement for Discovering New Space Industry Businesses and Mutual Sustainable Development" with Innospace at its headquarters in Sacheon, Gyeongnam.
Through this agreement, S&K Aerospace plans to collaborate with Innospace on the development and production of key components for small launch vehicles and expand the strategic cooperation system by discovering joint research projects in the future.
S&K Aerospace participates in the production of Airbus A320 and A321 wing top panels, TA-50 fuselage structures, and launch vehicle structures. Established in 2017, Innospace is challenging the development of the first private 15-ton-class engine small launch vehicle.
By cooperating with Innospace, S&K Aerospace plans to further strengthen its launch vehicle business capabilities and expand its space business alongside its existing commercial aircraft structure business.
S&K Aerospace has participated in the design and production of the fuselage structure of the Korean launch vehicle Nuri and has established a mid- to long-term space business development direction focused on the launch vehicle business in line with its parent company KAI's "New Space" vision. Through this, it plans to increase space business sales from 10% to 30%.
