The Dongseo University LINC+ Project Group Regional Collaboration Center carried out a project in cooperation with the local community. This project analyzes problems felt by local residents and proposes solutions. The target is to improve the living satisfaction through improving the residential environment for the disabled and rehabilitation exercise.
The project involved the Department of Exercise Prescription at Dongseo University, the Department of Senior Exercise Prescription, Namsanjeong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, Jung-gu Nanum Disabled Independent Living Center, People Sharing Light, Vacant House Management, and the Korea Home Staging Association.
The program included special lectures on home staging and organizing and storage, as well as customized rehabilitation training lectures for the disabled.
Three households with disabled members in the region were selected for residential environment improvement work and installation of customized exercise equipment according to disability type.
Professor Park Byung-joo of the Department of Exercise Prescription said, “This project, in which students participated, focused on creating a comfortable living environment for the disabled and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”
Dongseo University and the Korea Home Staging Association plan to support experts for grandparent-grandchild families and multicultural families after training home staging professionals.
