Wanju-gun Women's Association Holds 2021 Performance Report Meeting
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] The Wanju-gun Women's Association Council (President Cheon Kyung-wook) held the '2021 Wanju-gun Women's Association Council Performance Report Meeting' at the Wanju Family Culture Education Center on the 30th of last month.
The performance report meeting, which proceeded in the order of a commemorative ceremony, viewing of the 2021 activity video, presentations of outstanding cases of women's association activities, and a time of harmony, featured presentations of excellent cases by the Wanju-gun Women's Volunteer Activity Center (President Yeo Sun-hee), the Korea Consumer Union Wanju-gun Branch (President Kim Kyung-ja), and the Wanju-gun Saemaeul Women's Association (President Kang Gwi-ja).
The Wanju-gun Women's Volunteer Activity Center explained its approach to the local community through activities such as hairdressing volunteer work, acupressure at senior centers, and sharing holiday side dishes.
Additionally, the Korea Consumer Union Wanju-gun Branch shared achievements in enhancing consumer rights by strengthening education tailored to different age groups such as multicultural families, the elderly, and youth, while the Wanju-gun Saemaeul Women's Association received applause for sharing their activities including pesticide bottle collection, laundromat services, environmental cleanup, and side dish delivery.
President Cheon Kyung-wook said, “The Wanju-gun Women's Association Council is striving to change an unequal and unreasonable society by pooling the strength of each individual,” and added, “We will contribute to creating a happy Wanju-gun and work to ensure that our women, who are the most important, can actively participate as confident protagonists by promoting community development, enhancing women's rights and status, and realizing practical gender equality.”
The Wanju-gun Women's Association Council is composed of 13 women's organizations with about 2,658 members and is leading efforts to improve the status of women in Wanju-gun and regional development through various projects such as Gender Equality Week events, gender equality fund projects, and women's leader workshops.
