A Vehicle Driven by a Man in His 50s Falls into the Sea at Seogwipo Port... Driver Dies
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] A passenger car driven by driver A (male, in his 50s) fell into the sea near Seogwipo Port in Seogwi-dong, Seogwipo City.
According to the Seogwipo Coast Guard on the 1st, they received a report the previous afternoon of a vehicle falling into the sea near Pier 5 of Seogwipo Port, and the Seogwipo Police Substation and rescue team were dispatched.
The dispatched rescue police officer jumped into the sea around 2:59 p.m. and rescued driver A, who was unconscious at the time, and CPR and emergency measures were performed.
He was transported to a hospital in Seogwipo by a 119 ambulance but was pronounced dead.
It was confirmed that there were no passengers in the vehicle at the time.
The submerged vehicle was recovered through the insurance company, and the Seogwipo Coast Guard is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
