View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Sampyo Group announced on the 30th that it has built a mortar factory in Sejong City with an annual production capacity of 850,000 tons and held a completion ceremony. Sampyo Group, which holds the second-largest production capacity in the mortar industry, expects stable nationwide supply through the Sejong Mortar Factory.
The newly completed Sejong Mortar Factory is the fourth plant following Hwaseong, Incheon, and Gimhae (annual production of 700,000 tons), and has the largest mortar production capacity within Sampyo Group. After about 11 months of construction, it will begin full-scale operation and sales starting next month.
Mortar is a type of "instant cement" pre-mixed with cement and sand. It can be used immediately on construction sites by simply adding water and mixing. It has advantages such as improving construction quality, shortening construction periods, and reducing labor costs, leading to increased demand.
Although mortar demand has been increasing, supply has been concentrated in the metropolitan area until now. With the completion of the Sejong Mortar Factory, Sampyo Group has established a nationwide supply network connecting the metropolitan area (Incheon·Hwaseong) ? central region (Sejong) ? southern region (Gimhae). Through this, it plans to dramatically improve supply efficiency and maximize customer satisfaction.
The greatest strength of Sampyo Mortar is its quality. By proactively procuring high-quality raw materials through its own quarries and affiliated companies such as Sampyo Cement, and by introducing the latest European screening equipment, it has secured stable quality demanded by construction sites.
Sampyo Group is securing competitiveness through differentiation, such as being the first in the industry to introduce an automated shipping system capable of 24-hour just-in-time delivery and opening the 'Sampyo Mortar Mall' on Naver Smart Store. Special products launched this year, such as self-leveling mortar and polymer cement repair mortar, have received favorable reviews in the market, focusing on portfolio expansion as well.
