[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The Korea Financial Investment Association announced on the 30th that it will hold a webinar on "Key Concepts and Best Practices of Stewardship for Responsible Investment" in collaboration with PRI, which is leading the flow of responsible investment among institutional investors worldwide, on the 2nd of next month.
PRI is a global network organization that encourages investments considering responsible investment factors such as Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) by financial companies and institutional investors, with over 2,000 member firms worldwide.
The Korea Financial Investment Association held the "Korea Financial Investment Association-UN PRI Joint Socially Responsible Investment" seminar in 2019 with PRI. Since then, it has been regularly hosting seminars to enhance the understanding of global responsible investment among financial market stakeholders.
This webinar will practically explain the recent status and cases of stewardship work, a key element of responsible investment. To this end, James Robertson, Regional Director of PRI Asia, Paul Chandler, Director of Stewardship, and Emmet McNamy, Senior Specialist, will present on the importance, roles, and types of stewardship, and share detailed information on "active shareholder engagement." Additionally, Flora Wang, Director of Sustainable Investment at Fidelity International Asset Management, a PRI member institution, will present cases related to their ESG, stewardship, and proxy voting activities.
