BYN Black Yak Signs Business Agreement with Korea Coca-Cola for PET Bottle Resource Recycling
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] BYN Black Yak and Coca-Cola Korea (hereinafter Coca-Cola) have joined hands to achieve high-quality recycling of discarded PET bottles.
BYN Black Yak announced on the 30th that it has signed a business agreement with Coca-Cola to promote high-quality resource circulation of transparent PET bottles in Korea. At the signing ceremony, both companies agreed to actively cooperate in establishing a new resource circulation model to ensure that the transparent PET bottles collected from Coca-Cola are recycled into high-quality materials, and to create various opportunities including improving consumer awareness.
Black Yak established the New Life Tex TF team in 2019 to address the issue of existing recycled polyester fashion products relying on imported PET bottle raw materials. Together with related companies such as Sparkle, Doosan E&T, and TK Chemical, they succeeded in commercializing PLUSTIC products made from recycled domestic PET bottles in July 2020. Since then, they have built a domestic PET bottle resource circulation system covering everything from transparent PET bottle disposal and collection to product manufacturing, in cooperation with central government agencies and over 50 local governments nationwide.
Additionally, they have sought effective methods to reduce plastic waste and carbon footprints by signing business agreements with various companies practicing proper waste separation and eco-friendly activities at their workplaces, including SK Hynix, POSCO, Starbucks, and Hanssem.
This collaboration between Black Yak and Coca-Cola was formed through a shared deep understanding of the importance of environmental conservation and eco-friendly activities. Both companies plan to create synergy by leveraging their core technologies, capabilities, and campaigns.
