Chosun University Hosts 'Conversation Time with Presidential Candidates Lee Jae-myung and Sim Sang-jung'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Chosun University announced on the 26th that it will invite Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung and Justice Party presidential candidate Sim Sang-jung to hold a dialogue session on "Regional Universities and the Lives of Youth and University Students."
The lectures will be held on the 29th (11 a.m.) and December 8th (4 p.m.) at the Yeonju Hall on the 6th floor of the College of Social Sciences and College of Education at Chosun University. The sessions will provide an opportunity to share concerns of youth and university students amid the crisis of regional universities and to hear the candidates' thoughts.
The candidates and students will have an honest discussion about the crisis of regional universities caused by the concentration in the Seoul metropolitan area and the future prospects of students living in regional areas.
Ahead of the 20th presidential election, the candidates will present their pledges regarding whether local youth and students should move to the metropolitan area or if they can plan their futures in regional areas amid these changing times.
Gong Jin-seong, head of the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy, said, "Through this dialogue session with the presidential candidates, we hope students find the possibility of solving their problems through politics, and that the candidates gain a more concrete understanding of the realities faced by regional universities and students."
