Jeongeup-si Operates 'Small-Scale Resident Wish Project Joint Design Team'

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk (Mayor Yoo Jinseop) announced on the 26th that it will operate a 'Joint Design Team for Small-scale Resident Wish Projects' from the 1st of next month until February 15th of next year to expedite the early ordering and prompt execution of next year's regional development projects.

The Joint Design Team for Resident Wish Projects is composed of 15 civil servants in four teams of facility (civil engineering) staff, with the head of the Construction Division serving as the overall team leader.

The design team will be responsible for in-house detailed designs for about 200 projects worth 2.2 billion KRW, including next year's small-scale regional development projects and small-scale resident wish projects in towns and townships.

The purpose is to contribute to revitalizing the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, through prompt financial execution by operating the joint design team ahead of schedule, and to resolve residents' inconveniences.

The city plans to complete on-site surveys and measurements for the target projects by the end of next month and finish the designs by February 15th of next year.

Afterward, all projects will be simultaneously ordered and started in February, aiming to complete the projects before the 2022 farming season.

Through the operation of this joint design team, the city expects not only to save about 300 million KRW in service fees but also to enhance the work capabilities of newly appointed staff through the transfer of design skills and work training between senior and junior facility staff.

Mayor Yoo Jinseop said, "By operating the joint design team, we will resolve residents' inconveniences and promote benefits, as well as activate the local construction economy through early financial execution and ordering of projects in the first half of the year."
