Geumcheon-gu Launches Senior Welfare Housing Project at Doksan 13 Complex, B1 to 7 Floors... Construction Starts February 2022, Completion Targeted for 2023... Agreement Signed with Korea Land & Housing Corporation on Work, Cost Sharing, and Building Ownership/Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yuseong Hoon) announced on the 25th that it has signed a business agreement with Korea Land and Housing Corporation (hereinafter LH Corporation) to officially promote the ‘Seoul Doksan 13 Complex Senior Welfare Housing (Welfare Facility & Shared Home Complex Construction) Project.’
The senior welfare housing (welfare facility & shared home) is planned to be constructed within Doksan 13 Complex in Geumcheon-gu, spanning from one basement floor to seven above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 2,430㎡. The first floor will house the Doksan 1-dong Community Service Center civil affairs branch, the second and third floors will be health clinics, the fourth and fifth floors will be a daycare center, and the sixth and seventh floors will be demand-tailored public rental housing.
Through this agreement, Geumcheon-gu will share the construction costs of welfare facilities (community service center, health clinics, daycare center) and will handle the operation and management of welfare facilities as well as administrative support for permits and approvals. LH Corporation will provide the project site, share housing construction costs, and be responsible for overall construction design and building, as well as housing operation and management.
In March, Geumcheon-gu applied for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s senior welfare housing public project and was the only district in Seoul to be selected. The project completed detailed design in October and is scheduled to begin construction in February 2022, aiming for completion in 2023.
In October, Geumcheon-gu received certification as an age-friendly city from the World Health Organization (WHO) and joined the international network.
