Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority Successfully Completes Love Kimchi Sharing Event to Revitalize Local Economy
Realizing Social Values: Protecting Small Business Owners, Revitalizing Traditional Markets, and Supporting Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik) announced on the 25th that it successfully concluded the ‘Love Kimchi Sharing Event,’ delivering 5,400 heads of napa cabbage and mustard leaf kimchi to about 1,400 vulnerable households in the region.
The Love Kimchi Sharing Event, hosted by the Authority with Gwangyang YWCA, Yeosu Senior Club, and POSCO as collaborative partners, was held over two days?on the 18th in the Yeosu area and on the 23rd in the Gwangyang area?with cooperation from Gwangyang City and Yeosu City.
The Authority explained that this project aims to go beyond existing social contribution activities by practicing ESG management through win-win cooperation with the local community, contributing to revitalizing the local economy and improving the welfare of neighbors in need.
It added that the event is an example of realizing specialized social values by protecting local small business owners, revitalizing traditional markets, and creating jobs for seniors.
The 5,400 heads of kimchi prepared through this event will be delivered to about 1,400 vulnerable households in Gwangyang City and Yeosu City.
Choi Yeon-cheol, Vice President of the Authority who attended the event, said, “To become a public institution that contributes to ESG management practice and social value, we will continue to do our best in win-win cooperation through various activities with the local community.”
