Shinhan Bank Opens 3rd Branch of 'Cafe Sweet' Job Project for the Hearing Impaired

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Shinhan Bank announced on the 25th that it has opened the 3rd branch of 'Cafe Sweet,' a job creation support project for the hearing impaired, at the Shinhan Financial Group Baeknyeon Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul.
Cafe Sweet, meaning "with Shinhan (S)," is a job cafe for the hearing impaired operated with the purpose of providing professional vocational training and job creation for the hearing impaired. The 1st branch is located at Shinhan Bank's headquarters, and the 2nd branch is at Shinhan Square Bridge Seoul in Seongdong-gu, Seoul.
It is a virtuous cycle social contribution project by Shinhan Bank that reinvests the profits generated through the ethical consumption of Shinhan employees to support barista training and job opportunities for the hearing impaired.
To ensure the stable operation of Cafe Sweet, Shinhan Bank provides free space and monthly coffee bean supplies, and plans to continue supporting space for additional Cafe Sweet branches to contribute to job creation for the hearing impaired.
The opening ceremony was attended by President Okdong Jin, Principal Eunsook Kim of the National Seoul School for the Deaf, and Director Jeongja Lee of Sweet. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a donation ceremony where part of the profits from the ethical consumption of Shinhan employees was donated to the National Seoul School for the Deaf.
The donated funds will be used to purchase equipment such as coffee machines and ovens and to renovate facilities to improve the educational environment for students at the National Seoul School for the Deaf who aspire to become baristas and bakers.
