This performance presentation was conducted as part of a cooperative project through the MOU signed with the Gwangju Cultural Foundation in May, and was held as a festival with local cultural artists, including congratulatory performances by the Gwangju City Ballet and modern dancers.
It featured presentations of creative works by about 40 participants who took part in the 10-week program consisting of integrated cultural arts enjoyment, field exploration, and creative practice in dance, theater, and design, as well as the awarding of certificates of completion from the Gwangju Cultural Foundation and Gwangju University.
Participants of 'Dreaming Youth City La La Land,' prepared through a planning workshop in August and collaboration with art instructors and education experts, freely expressed various experiences of the art world and local issues through creative works, sharing the achievements of socially engaged art activities.
Park Jin-young, Director of the Gwangju University Institute for Educational Innovation, said, "I hope this was a time for young people to find their position and identity in the region and to envision their roles within the community," adding, "We will strive to revitalize local cultural arts education."
