Sejong 6 Companies Achieve $1.67 Million Export Consultation Performance with Vietnam
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Six companies in the Sejong area achieved export consultation results worth $1.67 million with local buyers in Vietnam.
The city announced on the 23rd that it achieved such results at the recently held '2021 Vietnam Business Matching Day.'
The Matching Day was jointly hosted and conducted by Sejong City, Daejeon City, and Chungnam Province to help promising export companies in the Chungcheong region enter the Vietnamese market.
In Sejong, companies including Nowcos Co., Ltd., Korea Sauce Co., Ltd., QD Co., Ltd., BT9 Co., Ltd., FBT Center Co., Ltd., and Hwacheong Trading participated in the Matching Day, conducting 54 consultations worth $1.67 million, among which export contracts worth $980,000 were concluded.
Additionally, at the IR (Investor Relations) pitching concert held as a side event of the Matching Day, Mas Korea Co., Ltd., a Sejong-based company developing road sensors related to autonomous driving, won third place.
The Matching Day was held online via a non-face-to-face (video) method considering the COVID-19 situation, with 50 small and medium-sized enterprises from the Chungcheong region, including companies from Sejong, participating.

Kim Hoe-san, head of the city's Corporate Support Division, said, "Although overseas dispatch of local companies is still restricted due to COVID-19, it is meaningful that we are achieving expected results through video export consultations," and added, "The city plans to support local export companies next year by combining online methods and overseas local dispatch methods to pioneer overseas markets."
