Sancheong-gun Allocates 605.7 Billion Won Budget for Next Year... Surpasses 600 Billion Won Mark for the First Time
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The annual budget of Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, has surpassed 600 billion won for the first time in history.
Sancheong-gun announced on the 22nd that it has prepared the initial budget for 2022 at 605.7 billion won, an increase of 104.5 billion won (20.85%) compared to this year, and submitted it to the county council.
This is the first time in the history of Sancheong-gun's budget formulation that the budget has exceeded 600 billion won. Since entering the 400 billion won range in the 2018 main budget, the scale of budget formulation has continuously increased.
Compared to 318.5 billion won in 2010, it has risen 1.9 times in 10 years. This is analyzed as a result of concentrating administrative power to select various government and Gyeongnam Province public contest projects and secure national and provincial budgets to solve local pending issues.
In next year's initial budget, the county included budgets for all sectors such as ▲2023 Sancheong World Traditional Medicine and Anti-Aging Expo preparation project ▲economic stimulus projects to overcome COVID-19 ▲resident life-oriented regional development projects ▲future agriculture promotion projects ▲social welfare and inclusive resident safety net strengthening projects, as well as cultural tourism infrastructure construction projects.
The budget scale by sector was organized in the order of 153.2 billion won for agriculture, forestry, marine and fisheries, 104.4 billion won for social welfare, 77.6 billion won for environment, 47.5 billion won for culture and tourism, and 34.6 billion won for transportation and logistics, with a concentrated increase of 39.1 billion won in the agriculture, forestry, marine and fisheries sector compared to the previous year.
Major expenditure budgets include 14.3 billion won for public job projects and 4 billion won for small business and SME support projects in the 'Vibrant Local Economy' sector, and 11.5 billion won for flood and disaster risk improvement projects in the 'Safe Living Environment' sector.
In the 'Dreamy Premium Agriculture' sector, 7.1 billion won was allocated for agricultural development fund loan support, 3.6 billion won for farmer and fisherman subsidies, 2.5 billion won for agricultural income increase and all-crop dryers support, totaling 53.3 billion won, and 23.2 billion won for forest income revitalization.
The 'High-quality Culture and Tourism' sector allocated 3 billion won for expanding infrastructure for the 2023 Sancheong World Traditional Medicine and Anti-Aging Expo, and 28.8 billion won for building and revitalizing cultural, sports, and tourism infrastructure. In 'Resident-Impacting Welfare,' 98.5 billion won was allocated for elderly and youth welfare promotion.
'Economic Driving Balanced Development' allocated 74.9 billion won for small-scale resident wish projects, roads, bridges, and agricultural infrastructure local pending projects, 41.6 billion won for urban development and rural vulnerable area development projects, and 77.6 billion won for environment and water supply and sewage expansion and management.
Sancheong-gun explained that it established regional economic revitalization to overcome COVID-19 and pre-preparation for the successful hosting of the 2023 Sancheong Expo as top priorities, while striving to realize premium Sancheong, happy Sancheong, and sound fiscal management.
