According to Mokpo Coast Guard on the 22nd, at 10:01 a.m. on the 21st, a report was received that crew member B (in his 50s) of coastal gillnet fishing vessel A (9.77 tons, 5 crew members) showed consciousness but symptoms of total paralysis while operating 5.5 km west of Bigeumdo Island, Sinan-gun.
The Coast Guard dispatched a coastal rescue boat from the substation, boarded patient B near Bigeumdo Island, and transported him through thick fog with low visibility to Namgang Pier, Amtaedo.
With the help of the Coast Guard, patient B, who was urgently transported, arrived at Namgang Pier at 11:43 a.m. and was moved to a hospital in Mokpo, where he is currently receiving treatment.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, "Although there were difficulties in transporting the patient due to winter sea fog, we were able to safely transfer the emergency patient to land and save a precious life."
