KB Kookmin Bank Launches Financial Platform 'Liiv Next' for Generation Z
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 22nd that it has launched ‘Liiv Next,’ a financial platform for Generation Z.
Liiv Next is a platform targeting Generation Z, a potential growth customer group for the future, with a particular focus on the ‘financial independence’ of minors (teenagers) who find independent financial activities difficult. It not only provides a space where teenage customers, who mainly started their financial life with the help of their parents, can begin managing their finances independently, but also adds Generation Z?style content to help expand their financial experience.
Liiv Next offers ‘Liiv Pocket,’ a prepaid electronic payment method exclusively for teenagers aged 14 to 18, which can be opened even without an ID. ‘Liiv Pocket’ can be opened directly by teenage customers through mobile phone authentication in their own name, and it is assigned a unique number, allowing financial transactions without a bank account.
Through ‘Liiv Pocket,’ users can send and receive money without fees, and ATM deposits and withdrawals are possible. Additionally, it includes a pay function, enabling payments at KB Pay online and offline affiliated stores even without a card. The usage limits are 300,000 KRW per day, 2,000,000 KRW per month, and a holding limit of 500,000 KRW.
A money transfer favorite widget is also provided for more convenient transfer services. By selecting frequent recipients and setting them on the phone’s widget, users can easily access the transfer menu with a single touch without having to open the app.
Since Liiv Next is an app created by KB Kookmin Bank, which has extensive experience and know-how with customers, it supports Generation Z customers to properly start their financial journey. It not only provides the bank’s secure financial infrastructure but also plans to offer expanded services linked with a wide range of products and content both inside and outside the KB Financial Group. Additional services to accompany Generation Z customers’ first financial experiences, such as savings and AI-based financial services for Liiv Pocket users, will be provided.
