'Quarantine, Real Estate, Jobs...' President Moon's Dialogue with the People
Live Broadcast for 100 Minutes on KBS... Economic Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki and Other Ministers Participate Both On and Off
[Asia Economy reporters Ryu Jeong-min and Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in's 'Dialogue with the People, Back to Daily Life' lasted for 100 minutes starting at 7:10 PM on the 21st. President Moon received and answered various questions on quarantine, real estate, jobs, and more.
In particular, when mentioning the real estate issue, President Moon expressed his apology, saying he felt "sorry." The event was attended by 304 citizen panelists (204 in-person, 100 online). The dialogue with the people was held again after two years since 2019.
The event was hosted by KBS announcer Jeong Se-jin, with KBS reporter Kim Yong-jun participating as a co-host. The KBS studio was circular in shape, with a small table and chairs placed at the center stage for the president and the main host.
On the circular studio walls, three large screens were installed both in front and behind. The screens in front of and behind the president’s seat displayed the phrase ‘President, Dialogue with the People, Back to Daily Life,’ and smaller circular texts with keywords such as ‘welfare blind spots,’ ‘medical care,’ ‘vaccine,’ ‘polarization,’ ‘household debt,’ ‘small business support measures,’ ‘youth policies,’ ‘livelihood,’ and ‘education gap’ appeared on the screens.
In front of the stage facing the president, seats for citizen panelists were arranged in a fan shape on the floor and tiered seating. The citizen panelists wore number tags on their chests and arms for headcount verification before taking their seats. On President Moon’s table were a cup of water, writing utensils, and notepads.
Originally, 200 citizen panelists were scheduled to attend in person, but 4 additional people joined. KBS had contacted extra participants in advance to prepare for possible absences, but all originally scheduled attendees participated, along with the additional contacts. Therefore, 204 citizen panelists attended in person, and 100 participated online, totaling 304 citizen panelists.
Meanwhile, the event was attended on-site by Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, and Kwon Deok-cheol, Minister of Health and Welfare.
Yoo Eun-hye, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education; Jeon Hae-cheol, Minister of the Interior and Safety; Hwang Hee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Kim Hyun-soo, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs; Moon Seung-wook, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy; Han Jeong-ae, Minister of Environment; Ahn Kyung-duk, Minister of Employment and Labor; Noh Hyung-wook, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; Kwon Chil-seung, Minister of SMEs and Startups; and Jung Eun-kyeong, Commissioner of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency participated online.
