This festival is organized by the Dong-gu Living Culture Club Federation and the Dong-gu Happiness Foundation under the theme 'Unfolding the Flower of Living Culture.'
The festival, held during the Chungjang Festival period, will feature 33 exemplary and actively participating clubs out of about 70 living culture clubs operating in Dong-gu.
The clubs will participate in competitions in the fields of performance, exhibition, and humanities, encouraging voluntary participation from club members and stimulating interest among spectators.
In particular, under social distancing measures due to the spread of COVID-19, a club promotion booth will be operated to encourage and support the passion and efforts of local-based living culture clubs.
Additionally, living culture centers from five districts of Gwangju Metropolitan City will also participate to provide various living culture information. Through this, the sharing of living culture information and promotion of exchanges are structured to enhance mutual solidarity.
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, "This festival is a meaningful event led by the private sector from planning to preparation. Dong-gu is a region where community at the village level is active and living culture content is abundant," adding, "We will continue to expand and support cultural and leisure activities in daily life so that residents can enjoy a happy cultural life."
