Naju-si Wins 'Internet Communication Award' at Korea Communication Awards
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Jeollanam-do Naju City (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 18th that it won the Internet Communication Grand Prize in the basic local government city category at the ‘14th Korea Communication Awards’ held at Perum Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 17th.
The Korea Communication Awards are hosted by the Korea Internet Communication Association and supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
They are awarded to companies and public institutions that actively communicate with the public consumers by evaluating SNS (social networking service) channel communication index, content competitiveness index, and operational aspects over the course of a year.
Evaluation is comprehensively conducted based on big data methods for content competitiveness according to monitoring and focus group interviews (FGI) mainly targeting the MZ generation, digital communication effectiveness measurement index (I), survey-based communication index customer satisfaction, and customer VOC (Voice of Customer).
The city received a high evaluation in the content competitiveness index category, achieving a comprehensive score of 81.98 points and an overall rating of Triple A (AAA).
The city delivers various municipal news, food, and experience programs to SNS consumers such as citizens and tourists in a vivid and easy-to-understand card news format through official SNS channels including blogs (Naver), Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
The number of SNS subscribers (followers) has shown remarkable growth, with Instagram increasing from 1,983 in October last year to 3,843 this year, an increase of about 1,800 over one year, and the blog rising from 2,560 to 4,087.
Mayor Kang In-gyu said, “As direct communication with citizens has become difficult due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, non-face-to-face communication has become important,” and added, “We will do our best to discover and operate content to promote Naju’s charm through online citizen communication and tourism promotion via Naju City’s official SNS channels.”
