Gwangju Nam-gu to Hold Job Fair on 23rd... Hiring Scale 340 People
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju (District Mayor Kim Byung-nae) will hold a job fair and other events at the district office starting at 2 p.m. on the 23rd.
Nam-gu has prepared a job fair and a special employment strategy lecture for public enterprise job seekers to support residents who are having difficulties in job hunting due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and economic recession.
First, a total of 80 organizations, including companies hiring employees and institutions providing consulting to help job seekers succeed in employment, will participate in the job fair.
Among them, 14 companies that are recruiting employees will set up interview booths on site. The number of recruits is estimated to be around 109.
These include companies producing cultural content based on IT technology and companies cooperating with the central government to train manpower, which are expected to attract great interest among job seekers.
“Gonggam Media,” which mainly produces broadcasting content, will hire five creators of webtoons and 3D animation content by integrating IT technology.
“Smart Jaejae Development Institute,” a company conducting cooperative projects with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, plans to select five instructors and researchers to operate employment support education programs.
“Yeoboya,” an online information provider, plans to hire 15 people in service planning, web and app development, and web design fields.
In addition, 60 companies hiring employees through the job board include the Gwangju Metropolitan City Election Commission, Gapyeong Medical Foundation Cheomdan Sun Hospital, Dongmyeong Environmental Science Institute Co., Ltd., Taeseong General Construction, and Leading Eye Co., Ltd.
The scale of recruitment is about 230 people, covering various positions such as automobile engineers, construction and civil engineering technicians, call center counselors, and manufacturing workers.
Furthermore, six institutions including Gwangju Urban Railway Corporation, Gwangju University Job Center, Songwon University Women’s New Work Center, and the Regional Employment Policy Research Institute will provide employment information and career counseling to job seekers visiting the job fair.
A Nam-gu official said, “Job seekers who want on-site recruitment should review information about participating companies in advance through the district office website and thoroughly prepare customized interviews to achieve good results,” adding, “We hope this job fair will be an event where participants can enjoy a sense of accomplishment through successful employment.”
