Hana Bank Announces Final Winners of the 29th Nature Love Children's Art Contest Finals
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hana Bank announced on the 17th the final winners of the '29th Hana Bank Nature Love Children's Art Contest' finals, which were held online on the 16th of last month.
The 'Hana Bank Nature Love Children's Art Contest' is a nationwide children's art competition with a long history and tradition, officially sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Forest Service, and the Seoul Museum of Art. Among approximately 12,000 entries submitted over three months starting May 24 under the theme "Let's Draw Nature Everyone Loves," a total of 200 children who passed the preliminary screening advanced to the final round.
Participants drew pictures on the theme "The Healthy Nature I Dream Of" at locations where online video conferencing was possible, then submitted photos verifying their completed works along with the original artworks.
After fair judging by experts, awards including the Grand Prize from the Minister of Environment, the Hana Bank President's Award, the Korea Forest Service Director's Award, and the Seoul Museum of Art Director's Award were selected. Winners will receive certificates and scholarships. This final competition was held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and the winning works will also be exhibited in ‘Hana World,’ Hana Bank’s metaverse virtual space.
Additionally, an opening commemorative event will run until the 30th. Visitors to the ‘Hana World’ space can take a verification photo and solve a simple quiz to enter a draw for chicken and ice cream coupons. A Hana Bank official stated, “In line with the contest’s purpose of awakening children to the meaning of happiness through love for nature and sharing, Hana Bank will donate 1,000 KRW per submitted work to environmental protection organizations,” adding, “We hope children experience that simply participating in the contest allows them to practice environmental love.”
