On the afternoon of the 17th, the Venture Innovation Society held an autumn academic conference at the Federation of Korean Industries Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, under the theme "ESG Management of Small and Medium Venture Innovation Companies."
In his congratulatory speech, Lee Ui-cheol, CEO of Asia Economy, explained, "With the Fourth Industrial Revolution and deepening polarization, 'stakeholder capitalism,' which prioritizes partners, consumers, and local communities over shareholders' profits, is emerging."
He continued, "To achieve long-term and sustainable profit generation, management activities that satisfy all stakeholders are necessary," adding, "Accordingly, ESG management is spreading domestically in response to the changing business environment."
CEO Lee emphasized, "For the sustainable growth of companies, financial information is important, but non-financial information such as ESG?namely eco-friendly production, social responsibility implementation, and transparent management systems?has become an essential element."
Finally, he evaluated, "Today's academic conference will be a meaningful occasion to share innovative ideas and experiences."

The academic conference began with a keynote speech by former Prime Minister Chung Un-chan titled "Conditions for Innovation and ESG with Co-growth," followed by a thematic lecture by Professor Moon Doo-cheol of Yonsei University, and presentations on ESG management cases by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and N2B.

Over the past three years, industry, academia, and research institutes have jointly engaged in various activities to respond to government venture innovation policies and suggest directions for innovation in small and medium enterprises.
