Dongkuk Steel Sends Support Gifts to Employees' Children Taking Exams
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Dongkuk Steel delivered encouragement gifts along with a message from Vice Chairman Jang Se-wook to 80 employees' children taking the 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test.
In his letter, Vice Chairman Jang said, "To all of you who have devoted yourselves to your studies for a long time, you have worked hard," adding, "I also extend my deep gratitude to the parents who have supported their children through difficulties."
This event is part of Dongkuk Steel's family-friendly management activities. Since 2017, Dongkuk Steel has annually delivered support gifts and messages to employees' children taking the CSAT. A total of 374 recipients have received them over the past four years, including this year.
Recognized for its continuous efforts to balance work and family, Dongkuk Steel obtained the 'Family-Friendly Company Certification' from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in 2020. Dongkuk Steel operates in-house daycare centers at each workplace and provides opportunities such as family-invited factory tours and volunteer activities. It offers 'Child Enrollment Care Leave' for employees with children entering elementary school and runs a 'Casual Day' where employees leave one hour early on the third Friday of each month.
