Tmon Sees 37-Fold Surge in Cultural Performance Ticket Sales After 'With Corona' Policy
Musicals and plays surge 95x... Tmon's exclusive 'TmonStage' performance sales boost popularity
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] TMON announced on the 16th that an analysis of cultural-related ticket sales (performances, exhibitions, experiences, kids) from the 1st to the 10th, the first ten days since the government’s 'With Corona' policy began, showed a 37-fold increase compared to the same period last year.
Musicals and plays saw a 95-fold increase, attributed to the popularity of TMON Stage performances such as the musicals 'Jekyll & Hyde' and 'Billy Elliot,' which TMON exclusively sells. Children and family performances increased 13-fold, and exhibitions, experiences, and events rose 8-fold.
Since the phased return to normal life began on the 1st, restrictions on seating and operating hours in performance venues have been eased, and discount benefits for vaccinated individuals have been supported, leading to an explosion of pent-up cultural consumption. With the peak performance season of November and December approaching and major musicals scheduled, cultural ticket sales are expected to continue to increase significantly.
Accordingly, TMON will open exclusive ticket sales for the musical 'Rebecca' at midnight on the 18th, offering the lowest prices. TMON Stage performances are scheduled for December 17th at 2 PM and 7 PM, with a 20% discount. An additional 10% discount is available when paying with a Kookmin Card.

Additionally, TMON is holding the 'Precious Daily Life, Precious Culture Ticket' (so-called Soso Ticket) promotion, selling various online and offline performances at discounted prices. The Soso Ticket is a project by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to revitalize the stagnant performance market and expand opportunities for cultural enjoyment by supporting performance art ticket fees. An 8,000 KRW discount coupon is issued for reservations over 10,000 KRW. It applies to over 100 online and offline performances including plays, musicals, classical music, opera, dance, and gugak. Two tickets per person are issued per request, with up to two requests allowed. An additional 15% discount is provided at payment.
