[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Samil Construction Co., Ltd. (Chairman Choi Gapryeol), a representative construction company in Honam, announced on the 9th that it had donated 50 million won as a development sponsorship fund to Jeonnam National University Hospital (Hospital Director Ahn Younggeun) on the 8th.
On that day, Jeonnam National University Hospital held a handover ceremony in the hospital administration building conference room attended by Hospital Director Ahn Younggeun, Chairman Choi Gapryeol, and officials from both organizations.
At the handover ceremony, Chairman Choi Gapryeol said, “I commend Jeonnam National University Hospital for faithfully fulfilling its role as a regional base hospital, not only promoting the health of local residents but also making every effort to prevent the recent spread of COVID-19,” and added, “I hope this sponsorship fund will be used effectively for the development of domestic medical care and Jeonnam National University Hospital,” as he handed the fund to Hospital Director Ahn Younggeun.
In response, Hospital Director Ahn Younggeun expressed sincere gratitude, saying, “I sincerely thank the strong local company for showing such deep interest and affection for the development of Jeonnam National University Hospital,” and added, “We will do our best to meet the expectations of all local residents, including Samil Construction, by focusing even more on the hospital’s core duties of treatment, research, education, and public healthcare as a national university hospital.”
This sponsorship from Samil Construction Co., Ltd. to Jeonnam National University Hospital is the third, following Chairman Choi Gapryeol’s donation of large-scale artworks in 2016 and 2018, and in 2018, they also donated large-scale media art to Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital.
Samil Construction Co., Ltd., founded on June 20, 1995, leads South Korea’s architectural culture through differentiated design capabilities with its representative brand ‘Samil Paraview,’ excellent construction know-how, and outstanding quality control technology, while also contributing to regional economic development.
Furthermore, Chairman Choi Gapryeol, who has been steadily leading Samil Construction Co., Ltd., currently operates 12 affiliated companies including Samil Construction Co., Ltd. and the Samil Paraview Cultural Scholarship Foundation, and has been actively engaged in community giving and sharing love.
In particular, he was listed as a member of the Honor Society, a high-donor group of the Community Chest of Korea, in 2015, and for the past 26 years, he has regularly provided love and volunteer activities for low-income groups in welfare blind spots such as multicultural families and people with disabilities.
In 2019, he was selected as a Beautiful Taxpayer and received a commendation from the Commissioner of the National Tax Service for his contributions to social contribution activities and the spread of a culture of sincere tax payment.
