Wanju-gun Re-certified as an 'Excellent Workplace for Reading Management'
[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Wanju County announced on the 5th that it has been re-certified as an ‘Excellent Reading Management Workplace’ in this year’s ‘8th Korea Reading Management Excellent Workplace Certification.’
The Korea Reading Management Excellent Workplace Certification project is an initiative to discover reading-friendly companies and organizations, promote a culture of reading, and expand reading culture in workplaces and local communities.
The National Brand Promotion Agency selects recipients based on document reviews and on-site inspections according to evaluation criteria consisting of 22 items across 4 categories.
Previously, Wanju County received the Institutional Head Award for ‘Korea Reading Management Excellent Workplace’ in 2016 and won an Excellence Award in 2020.
Since 2015, Wanju County has been operating various humanities programs to encourage employees to read and support reading.
Through the ‘Book Morning Morning Reading’ program, books are placed on each floor to promote a 10-minute morning reading exercise daily, and employees are actively encouraged to participate by regularly recommending desired books to be stocked.
Additionally, a ‘Library of Distinguished Figures’ has been set up in the lobby of the government building to exhibit recommended books by leaders guiding the region, making books more accessible.
Wanju County also actively supports workplace reading club activities.
