View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] The Korea Exchange and the KOSDAQ Association are jointly taking steps to create an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management environment.
On the 3rd, the Korea Exchange and the KOSDAQ Association announced that they signed a business agreement to establish an ESG management environment for the KOSDAQ market. Both organizations entered into this agreement to raise awareness of ESG among KOSDAQ-listed companies and to spread an ESG management culture.
To help listed companies better understand ESG management, the two organizations plan to hold ESG briefings and organize the KOSDAQ ESG Forum to promote awareness among executives about the necessity of ESG management. Additionally, they will introduce an advanced ESG training program aimed at cultivating ESG management experts.
Jang Kyung-ho, Chairman of the KOSDAQ Association, stated, “As ESG becomes a critical issue across industries, KOSDAQ companies must actively respond to ESG. Through this business agreement with the Korea Exchange, we will prepare support measures to enable KOSDAQ companies to proactively address ESG.”

Hong Soon-wook, Head of the KOSDAQ Market Division at the Korea Exchange, said, “We plan to actively support KOSDAQ companies in voluntarily recognizing the importance of ESG management and adopting it as a new management strategy. We hope this will enable KOSDAQ companies to achieve a paradigm shift in management toward ESG.”
