Gwangju Seo-gu Wins Most Awards for 6 Consecutive Years at National Resident Autonomy Expo

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) has been honored with the highest number of awards nationwide for excellent cases for six consecutive years at the National Residents' Autonomy Expo.

Seo-gu announced on the 3rd that a total of seven cases, including four grand prizes, were selected as excellent cases at the 20th National Residents' Autonomy Expo.

It continued its record as the local government with the highest number of excellent cases nationwide for six consecutive years.

Pungam-dong in the residents' autonomy field, Sangmu 1-dong in the learning community field, Hwajeong 4-dong in the special contest field, and Pungdure each won the grand prize.

Nongseong 1-dong in the learning community field and Yang 3-dong in the residents' organization network field won excellence awards, and Yang-dong won the encouragement award in the regional revitalization field.

Studying the Village for Neighbors and Communicating with Residents" ▲ Hwajeong 4-dong with "The Journey for Simple but Certain Happiness in Hwasam Village" ▲ Pungdure with "2040 Carbon Neutrality, Transition! Pungam Village" respectively.

The excellence awards went to ▲ Nongseong 1-dong with "Cherry Blossom Heroes! Dreaming of Overcoming the Climate Crisis through Cooperation in the Village!" ▲ Yang 3-dong with "Starting the Starlight Emission Governance Ship Containing Village Happiness and Carbon Neutrality~!!!".

The encouragement award was given to ▲ Yang-dong with "Taste! Style! Affection! The Loving Yang-dong Village".

Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "This valuable result was achieved through Seo-gu's active support and the passionate efforts of local residents centered on the Residents' Autonomy Committee," and added, "We will do our best to realize a complete autonomous community unique to Seo-gu, where participation from residents of various classes leads to changes in the village."
