Jeongeup-si to Host 'International Art Festival' Until the 25th
[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk (Mayor Yoo Jinseop) announced on the 2nd that it will hold the 'International Art Festival' at the Life Culture Center until the 25th.
The International Art Festival was prepared to provide an opportunity for Jeongeup citizens, exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, to enjoy culture and arts, and to promote local cultural development.
In particular, this exhibition, which carries the meaning of regaining peace in the world and peace in daily life, focuses on sharing the various aspects of 'peace' as seen by artists around the world.
It was held following a business agreement signed in April between the Seojimal Scholarship Foundation, Geoje Haegumgang Theme Museum, and Yukyung Art Museum for mutual exchange in culture, arts, and education.
The exhibition features over 80 carefully selected works from 283 artists from 63 countries worldwide, including Korea.
The works are paintings, photographs, sculptures, and various other genres, each expressing their own meaning and color under the theme of peace.
The exhibition is open every hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and can be viewed free of charge.
Mayor Yoo Jinseop said, "I am pleased that people in rural areas, where cultural environments are relatively weak, can view various artworks from around the world through this international exhibition," and added, "I hope this exhibition brings some comfort to the hearts of citizens tired from COVID-19."
