G20 Occasion Rome Korea-China Foreign Ministers Meeting... Discussion on Declaration of End of War
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] On the 29th (local time), Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong held a Korea-China foreign ministers' meeting with Wang Yi, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister, in Rome for about 30 minutes on the sidelines of the Group of Twenty (G20) summit.
The two ministers exchanged frank and in-depth views on cooperation measures for the early restart of the Korea Peninsula peace process, including the issue of a declaration of the end of the Korean War.
They also exchanged opinions on the development of bilateral relations focusing on progress since the foreign ministers' meeting on September 15, as well as on regional situations and global issues, and discussed cooperation measures between the two countries.
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year, both sides agreed to make further efforts to promote mutual understanding and friendly sentiments between the peoples of the two countries through the successful promotion of the "2020-2021 Korea-China Cultural Exchange Year" and the "Korea-China Future Development Committee."
In particular, Minister Chung emphasized the need for concrete cooperation measures to activate smooth exchanges in cultural content fields such as films, and Minister Wang agreed and said they would continue communication.

The two ministers evaluated the close communication between high-level officials of the two countries through various means despite the COVID-19 situation, and agreed to further promote high-level communication and exchanges to develop the Korea-China strategic cooperative partnership in the future.
