Nowon-gu Supports Outdoor Advertising (2 Million) to Help Local Small Business Owners' Operations
Support for Costs Up to 2 Million Won Per Business
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) has launched outdoor advertising support to help local small business owners whose business activities have been curtailed due to COVID-19.
Small business owners with establishments in Nowon-gu can receive support of up to 2 million KRW per business when commissioning the production and installation of signs from outdoor advertising operators registered within the district. However, any costs exceeding the support limit per business and value-added tax must be borne by the advertiser, i.e., the business owner.
Eligible small business owners include ▲retail, restaurant, lodging, and service businesses with fewer than 5 regular employees ▲mining, manufacturing, construction, and transportation businesses with fewer than 10 regular employees. According to the purpose of the project, large corporations, franchise directly managed stores, non-store businesses, excluded industries, and newly opened businesses are not eligible to apply.
Applications will be accepted until the budget is exhausted. Overlapping support from other projects, business operation period within Nowon-gu, and other criteria will be reviewed, and applicants will be individually notified of the suitability of support based on evaluation results.
Those wishing to apply should prepare related documents such as a small business confirmation certificate, national and local tax payment certificates, and proof of full payment of the four major social insurances, and submit the application form in person to the Outdoor Advertising Management Team of the Urban Landscape Division at Nowon-gu Office.
For inquiries about eligible industries and required documents, applicants can contact the person in charge by phone for guidance.
The district expects this project to have a triple effect: providing small business owners with an opportunity to enhance promotional effects through sign replacement, creating new sales channels for local outdoor advertising operators, and preventing safety accidents caused by aging signs.
Additionally, illegal signs will be removed during this process, and replacement with non-reportable signs with a single surface area within 5㎡ will be encouraged to improve the cityscape.
Furthermore, the district is conducting various projects to support small business owners. In the first half of the year, it provided special credit guarantee loans worth 20 billion KRW to stabilize management and supply emergency funds to small business owners affected by COVID-19. On September 13, it issued the third batch of Nowon Love Gift Certificates worth 10.9 billion KRW to stimulate local consumption and revitalize the local economy, all of which sold out in 17 minutes.
