Gwangju Creative Economy Innovation Center Hosts Turnit Project Workshop
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (Director Ha Sang-yong, hereinafter referred to as the Center) recently announced on the 29th that it held the ‘2021 Turn-it Project ESG Capacity Building Workshop’ to enable social ventures and the region to achieve sustainable growth together through network linkage among regional innovation actors.
Under the slogan “Gwangju, Turning on the Switch of Change,” the Center has been promoting the Turn-it Project (Regional Innovation Model Support Project) since 2018, discovering social innovation business models and supporting demonstration and revitalization within the region.
This workshop provided programs for sustainable growth of supported companies, including management strategies aligned with ESG trends and special lectures on regional innovation projects. In addition, to concretize regional innovation projects, six departments of Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall, five related organizations including the National Pension Service, and eight Turn-it Project supported companies participated to discuss ways to innovatively solve social issues in Gwangju together.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, symptoms were checked the day before the event, and participation on the day was excluded if symptoms were present, with the event conducted in compliance with COVID-19 safety guidelines.
Ha Sang-yong, Director of the Gwangju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, said, “Our Center will serve as an innovation platform connecting local governments, related organizations, and social ventures to create a social innovation startup ecosystem unique to our region.”
