Gokseong-gun Holds Special Lecture on Government Budget Analysis and Public Project Response Strategies

[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cha Jong-sun] Jeonnam Gokseong-gun (Governor Yoo Geun-gi) announced on the 29th that on the 28th, it held a special lecture on the analysis of the 2022 government budget and strategies for responding to public contest projects for team leaders and staff in charge of major public contest projects.

Dr. Lee Min-sik, head of the Public Contest Project Promotion Team at the Korea Institute of Public Administration, was invited as the lecturer. Based on his extensive experience, the lecturer clearly and interestingly explained strategies and know-how for securing public contest projects, gaining much sympathy from the attendees.

Through this special lecture, Gokseong-gun aims to kick-start next year’s public contest projects such as the Korean New Deal 2.0, climate response, and regional extinction response.

They plan to actively discover climate response fund projects and Korean New Deal 2.0 projects promoted according to the 2050 carbon neutrality plan.

Along with this, as central government public contest projects are shifting mainly to multi-department linked projects, efforts are being made to discover various projects through interdepartmental collaboration.

Furthermore, they plan to prepare policy projects in advance to secure the local extinction response fund and actively apply for it.

Recently, the government announced plans to establish a local extinction fund to support designated population decline areas with 1 trillion won annually for 10 years.

The support targets include 89 local governments nationwide, including Gokseong-gun, recently designated as population decline areas by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Meanwhile, Gokseong-gun established a comprehensive management plan for public contest projects in the first half of this year.

They are also systematically managing public contest projects through pre-consultation systems, reporting to the council on public contest projects, and project manualization.

A Gokseong-gun official said, “We are focusing all efforts on securing national and provincial funds by strengthening communication and collaboration between departments to proactively respond to public contest projects.”
