Suwon City Launches Child Abuse Prevention Campaign... Includes Special Exhibitions and More
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province is conducting various campaigns to prevent child abuse in diverse ways.
First, Suwon City is launching the 'We do Online Campaign' targeting citizens and public officials.
The 'Suwon Citizens We do Online Campaign,' running until the 15th of next month, involves filming a sign language gesture meaning 'promise' to signify the commitment to prevent child abuse and report it when discovered, then posting the certification photo on SNS and other platforms.
Posts must include hashtags such as '#SuwonCity ChildAbusePreventionCampaign #ReportChildAbuse112 #WeDoCampaign' and tag at least two friends or acquaintances to join the 'We do Challenge.'
The 'Suwon City Public Officials We do Online Campaign,' involving Suwon citizens, public officials, daycare centers, and child-related institution personnel, will be held from the 15th to the 22nd of next month.
Additionally, from the 2nd to the 4th of next month, a special exhibition titled 'Suwon City Child Abuse Prevention 112 Campaign - Drawing 100 Words of Hurt' will be held to promote a culture of reporting child abuse.
The event is co-hosted by Suwon City and Save the Children, a child rights advocacy organization.
This special exhibition selects 100 hurtful words spoken to children and displays artworks expressing the emotions children felt upon hearing those words.
Based on advice from child experts, the exhibition also introduces proper and warm phrases that can be used instead of the 100 hurtful words.
The exhibition will be held on November 2nd and 3rd in the lobby of Suwon City Hall main building, and on the 4th at the 2nd-floor plaza of Suwon Station.
