Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju to Completely Renovate Aging Sports Facilities
Selected for the Public Contest of Community Sports Facility Support Project... Secured 1.25 Billion Won in National and City Funding
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Samho) is promoting a full renovation of aging sports facilities.
On the 28th, Gwangsan-gu announced that four projects were selected in the '2022 Sports Facilities Support Project Contest,' securing 1.25 billion KRW in national and city funds.
This project supports the expansion and renovation of sports facilities targeting local facilities for sports promotion.
Gwangsan-gu was selected for a total of four projects: ▲ renovation of Hanam Sports Park ▲ functional reinforcement of sports facilities such as Unnam and Cheomdan Sports Complex ▲ installation of artificial turf at Wolgok Tennis Court ▲ renovation of Ssangam Park soccer field.
Using the secured national and city funds, renovations and functional reinforcements of each facility will be carried out by the first half of next year.
A Gwangsan-gu official said, “Through this contest project, we expect to create a more convenient and pleasant sports environment, increasing residents' satisfaction,” and added, “We will also actively strive to promote community sports.”
