Sancheong Textile Blended Feed Cooperative Selected for 'Eco-Friendly Livestock Award'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong Joseomyu Mixed Feed Agricultural Cooperative in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam, was selected as the best company in the '2021 Eco-friendly Livestock Awards' hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
The '2021 Eco-friendly Livestock Awards' is a contest aimed at discovering and awarding outstanding eco-friendly livestock farmers to foster sustainable livestock farming. It was hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and organized by the Korea Eco-friendly Livestock Association.
The evaluation was divided into three categories: certified farms, livestock product distribution, and livestock materials. The organizers selected award-winning companies through document and on-site evaluations followed by a final review.
This year's grand prize went to Sancheong Joseomyu Mixed Feed Agricultural Cooperative Corporation, a producer of eco-friendly organic total mixed ration (TMR) feed.
The cooperative was recognized for securing and producing organic feed (organic rice straw and forage) and supplying it to organic Korean beef farms in the Sancheong area, leading the practice of organic livestock farming.
Established in October 2018, Sancheong Joseomyu Mixed Feed Agricultural Cooperative Corporation has facilities including a factory building and production line covering 1,493㎡ on a 4,321㎡ site in the Chahwang-myeon area.

It purchases up to 1,000 tons annually of local agricultural and by-products and contracts to cultivate 45 hectares of barley and Italian grass. The cooperative's main products include organic Korean beef feed, general cattle feed, mineral blocks, and fermented microorganisms.
