Gyeonggi Office of Education Supports 'Casual Clothes Purchase Costs' for 1st-Year Middle and High School Students Not Wearing Uniforms
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will also provide daily clothing purchase expenses to middle and high school first-year students who do not wear school uniforms.
The Gyeonggi Office of Education announced on the 27th that, following the promulgation of the partial amendment to the 'Gyeonggi-do School Uniform Support Ordinance' on July 14, it will provide daily clothing purchase expenses to 1,218 first-year middle and high school students from 59 schools who had not previously received free school uniform support.
Until now, free school uniform support was provided only in kind to new middle and high school students and first-year transfer students who wore school uniforms.
With this ordinance amendment, students attending schools that do not require uniforms and who have not received school uniform purchase support will now be eligible to receive 300,000 KRW per person for daily clothing purchase expenses.
Daily clothing purchases will be made following guidance from each school, and after purchasing daily clothes, students will submit receipts to the school, which will then reimburse the purchase amount to their school banking accounts.
