Prosecutors Conduct Final Investigation Ahead of Arrest Warrant Request for Kim Man-bae and Nam Wook in 'Daejang-dong Scandal'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] The prosecution, investigating allegations of preferential treatment and lobbying in the Daejang-dong development, is making efforts to solidify charges by summoning related parties again ahead of requesting arrest warrants for Kim Man-bae, the major shareholder of Hwacheon Daeyu, and Nam Wook, the owner of Cheonhwa Dongin No. 4 and a lawyer.
The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's dedicated investigation team (led by Deputy Chief Prosecutor Kim Tae-hoon) summoned Kim, lawyer Nam, and lawyer Jeong Min-yong, former head of the Strategic Investment Team at Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, for questioning on the afternoon of the 26th.
The prosecution is known to be organizing the investigation contents and will soon decide whether to request arrest warrants for Kim and lawyer Nam.
Before appearing at the prosecution, Kim denied allegations related to bribery when asked by reporters about preferential treatment concerning the employment of the daughter of former special prosecutor Park Young-soo at Hwacheon Daeyu and the apartment sales of Hwacheon Daeyu's holdings, stating, "There was none."
When reporters asked lawyer Jeong, "Have you still not told (then Seongnam Mayor Lee Jae-myung) about the direct report?" he replied, "That's correct."
