[2021 Yangpyeong Index] GC Green Cross Establishes Flexible Working Hours and Remote Work System

View original imageGC Green Cross, which won the Asia Economy Representative Award in the work-family balance category, has a 60% female workforce in its core research and development (R&D) division. In the R&D sector, a selective working hours system has been introduced to provide a more positive effect on employees' work-family balance.
To promote flexible working hours company-wide, a staggered commuting system in 30-minute increments, flexible working hours, and a selective working hours system on a monthly basis are implemented. The selective working hours system is actively utilized especially in the R&D division. Since COVID-19, remote work and telecommuting systems have also been actively established.
GC Green Cross provides equal education and training opportunities regardless of gender or age. Regular 360-degree leadership multi-faceted assessments are conducted for team leaders and above to provide training aimed at enhancing leadership capabilities. Online learning content is also supported to enable self-development in various fields including leadership, humanities, liberal arts, and languages. In personnel management areas such as promotion, transparent performance evaluation and compensation systems are established through assessments and reviews of employees' job performance and leadership.

All employees eligible for maternity and paternity leave can use the reduced working hours system during childcare periods, and this is clearly stated in the employment regulations. The parental leave system and family care leave are utilized regardless of gender. Last year, more male employees used family care leave than female employees.
