View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] ADT Caps (CEO Park Jin-hyo) has changed its name to 'SK Shielders' and declared its leap forward as a 'life care platform' company.
On the morning of the 26th, ADT Caps announced this through an online media briefing and introduced its new vision and business strategy. SK Shielders combines 'shield' and 'us,' meaning to create an environment where all of us can feel safe.
◆Targeting 5-fold growth in new growth business sales by 2025=At the briefing, Park Jin-hyo, CEO of SK Shielders, said, "Since becoming a new member of SK in 2018, we have achieved more than double sales in three years, marking the best growth since our founding," adding, "Now, by changing our name to SK Shielders and accelerating our evolution into a life care platform company, we aim to increase new growth business sales by more than five times by 2025." In particular, Park explained, "We will drastically transform our existing physical security-centered business structure to expand the sales ratio of new growth businesses such as cybersecurity, cloud, convergence security, unmanned services, and care to about 60% by 2025."
To this end, SK Shielders plans to comprehensively apply big tech capabilities such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation (DT), and cloud to four major business areas: cybersecurity, physical security, convergence security, and safety & care. AI will be fundamentally applied to all upcoming services, and differentiated services based on DT technology that processes and analyzes 800 million conditions and 250,000 data points per second, as well as a multi-cloud management platform (CSMP), will continue to be developed.
Specifically, in the cybersecurity business, cloud security and mobile are set as key growth foundations. SK Shielders will strengthen partnerships with global solution providers in cloud security and actively pursue mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The strategy is to expand cloud security business sales by more than five times by 2025. The mobile business is preparing subscription services with various functions to care for parents, children, and pets, aiming to increase monthly active users (MAU) to 3 million by next year.
Additionally, SK Shielders will fully introduce AI CCTV into physical security solutions within this year. While physical security has so far focused on protecting customers' assets, going forward, AI CCTV will serve as a business partner that helps generate revenue through commercial area analysis, sales analysis, and more.
◆First unveiling of convergence security platform 'SUMiTS'=SK Shielders also unveiled its self-developed intelligent convergence security platform 'SUMiTS' at the event. This service integrates SK Shielders' cybersecurity and physical security capabilities with AI, Internet of Things (IoT), and big data technologies to prevent security threats not only in facility management, industrial safety, and disaster management but also in operational technology and industrial control systems in advance.
In the safety and care business, 'CapsHome,' optimized for apartments and multi-family housing, aims to secure more than 1 million households by 2025. By linking with home IoT devices such as safes and door locks and expanding the system with safe delivery services connected to e-commerce, CapsHome will be developed into a 'smart home platform.' The 'Caps Unmanned Safe Zone' solution plans to expand to more than 5,000 subscribed stores by the end of this year and diversify unmanned business sectors.
SK Shielders is also actively pursuing global expansion based on accumulated domestic and international business capabilities and know-how. Last year, it successfully exported its self-developed information security control platform, Secudium, to Vietnam and plans to expand its global control platform business based on this.
CEO Park emphasized, "SK Shielders has the mission to make South Korea the safest and most comfortable country in the world, and we will expand all our solutions and services accordingly," adding, "We will leap forward as a life care platform company that provides security, safety, and care for people, objects, and spaces without constraints of time and place."
