Cheongsong-gun Farmers' Association Donates Unified Rice to Help Neighbors in Need
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Cheongsong-gun Farmers' Association in Gyeongbuk (President Oh Chang-rok) announced on the 22nd that it donated 60 bags (20kg each) of organic Tongil rice worth 3.1 million won to Cheongsong-gun to help vulnerable groups in the region.
Since 2017, the Cheongsong-gun Farmers' Association has held the "Tongil Rice Hand Transplanting Event," where participants experience traditional hand transplanting rice seedlings, sharing the importance of unification and hoping for unification every year.
Most of the sales proceeds from the rice harvested through this event are used to promote inter-Korean exchange projects, and some are donated to vulnerable groups in the region.
President Oh Chang-rok said, "As COVID-19 has prolonged, we agreed with the members to donate rice to help vulnerable groups facing difficulties."
