[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Sangju City conducted a "Sangju Shine Muscat Special Sale" at 70 E-Mart branches nationwide for seven days from the 14th to the 20th to promote the consumption of Shine Muscat, a representative local agricultural product.
The event, co-hosted by Sangju City and the Sangju Cooperative Joint Business Corporation, sold 35,000 boxes of Shine Muscat (1.5kg), generating sales of 700 million KRW.
A Sangju City official stated, "This event was held to promote the consumption of Sangju Shine Muscat, which has been shrinking due to export disruptions caused by COVID-19," adding, "We will expand events to introduce Shine Muscat to consumers in major cities and sell it at reasonable prices."
Sangju is a representative grape-producing region, ranking first nationwide in Shine Muscat cultivation area and first in grape export volume in Gyeongbuk Province.
