Enhancing Flavor with Truffle, Doubling Shrimp in 'Saewookkang Black'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Nongshim's Shrimp Crackers, celebrating their 50th anniversary, are taking on a transformation challenge. Introducing 'Shrimp Crackers Black,' which adds a luxurious flavor with truffle, one of the world's top three ingredients.
Shrimp Crackers Black features the rich aroma unique to truffles. Nongshim used Italian black truffles to create Shrimp Crackers Black. The savory taste of the shrimp crackers and the scent of black truffle combine to create a sophisticated yet distinctive harmony.
The size has been increased by 1.5 times compared to the original shrimp crackers, and the thickness has been reduced, making them lighter and crispier. Commemorating the 50th anniversary, the packaging design also conveys a luxurious feel. It uses black and gold colors centered around the original red color of the shrimp crackers. The shrimp content has also been doubled compared to the existing product, emphasizing the differentiated savory taste of fresh shrimp.
Shrimp Crackers were the first snack. Nongshim embarked on developing the first snack in Korea with the goal of creating food that anyone from children to the elderly could easily enjoy. The development concept at the time was to capture the savory grilled shrimp salt flavor that Koreans love. Nongshim researchers devoted themselves to research overnight for a year, using 4 to 5 fresh shrimps measuring 5 to 7 cm in one bag of shrimp crackers to capture the savory taste of fresh shrimp.
