BMT Wins Technology Innovation Award in Energy Management Solutions at the 'Smart Factory Awards'
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] BMT, a company specializing in fittings, valves, and power equipment, announced on the 21st that it received the Technology Innovation Grand Prize in the Energy Management Solution (EMS) category from the Smart Factory Award Selection Committee at the '2021 Smart Factory Awards.'
Yoon Jong-chan, CEO of BMT, stated, "As the importance of carbon neutrality has been highlighted with the implementation of greenhouse gas emissions trading tax, our recently developed energy management solution is gaining attention. This award is very meaningful as it recognizes our technological capabilities amid the global megatrend emphasizing energy management capabilities and greenhouse gas reduction."
BMT entered the energy management solution business in 2013 and has been developing and selling solutions for buildings and factories based on its self-developed distribution panels and power measurement modules for smart grids. Customers can optimally use energy by linking IoT (Internet of Things) technology with production data (MES). This enables production cost reduction, equipment quality improvement, big data analysis, and one-stop service through alarm functions when abnormal signs occur.
BMT’s energy management solution consists of ▲ SmartEye power meters for energy measurement, ▲ IoT wired and wireless gateways responsible for storing real-time data and transmitting it to cloud systems, ▲ cloud-based energy management software for real-time data visualization and statistical analysis, ▲ equipment anomaly detection, and ▲ autonomous control functions for specific loads.
Recently, BMT also reflected the high-quality real-time data analysis needs from customers regarding energy data acquisition cycles and response time issues. To this end, it acquired Tedge Computing technology from the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), enabling simultaneous data acquisition and analysis from up to 32 power quality sensors. This solution has already been applied to the Korea Electric Power Corporation’s (KEPCO) Busan substation and central business office, with plans to expand to about 80 locations including KEPCO’s Ulsan and Gyeongnam regions.
CEO Yoon emphasized, "Along with the carbon neutrality trend, we will contribute to the government’s energy policies and strive to enhance corporate value through additional research and development."
