Lotte Chemical Donates Scholarship Funds from ShaLotte Volunteer Group to Yeosu Office of Education
A Valuable Foundation for Fostering Local Talent
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Kyung-taek] On the 20th, Jeollanam-do Yeosu Office of Education held a "Scholarship Award Ceremony for Establishing an Educational Welfare Safety Net" in the conference room, attended by about 20 people including Park Soo-sung, Head of Lotte Chemical Yeosu Plant, and Kim Jae-cheol, Chairman of the Labor Union.
The total scholarship amount is 10 million KRW, which will be distributed as 1 million KRW each to 2 elementary school students, 7 middle school students, and 1 high school student from educationally vulnerable groups in Yeosu, selected through separate evaluations such as home visits.
Lotte Chemical previously donated 10 million KRW for the "Fix Dream House" project to create a stable residential environment for students from at-risk families.
Park Soo-sung, Head of Lotte Chemical Yeosu Plant, expressed, "I hope this modest scholarship will be well delivered to students in need and serve as a valuable foundation for nurturing local talent."
Kim Hae-ryong, Superintendent of Yeosu Office of Education, said, "We ask for continuous interest from companies in fostering local talent, and we will strive to build a true educational governance where the public, private, and academic sectors work together for education."
